Each year, YLI conducts the largest secure, student-only, online mock election in the nation, using electronic ballots tailored to each student’s home legislative district. Read below about our 2020 Mock Election. Teachers, if you haven't already, Sign Up with YLI for your students to participate!

Getting in the Game using the YLI Mock Election!

  • YLI hosts the 2020 National Mock Election October 12-23, 2020 in partnership with America's Mock Election and Win My Vote.
  • The ballot this year includes the presidential race, U.S. congressional races, gubernatorial races, state congressional races and more.
  • Lesson plans supporting the National Mock Election are available on YLI's lesson plan webpage including those comparing the presidential candidates and gubernatorial candidates.
  • FREE online teacher resources include downloadable posters, decorations and stickers to generate election excitement in your school.
  • Flexible voting period. Voting can occur anytime during the stated period.
  • Teachers may choose online or paper ballot voting.
  • Results are available beginning October 26.
