2012 YLI National E-Congress Begins
Let the legislating begin!!
On January 4, the 2012 National E-Congress opened its session allowing teachers to register and get their students started learning about the legislative process by creating original legislation.
Student legislators will learn about the legislative process, research possible legislation, draft a bill, submit the bill to YLI and participate in the committee phase in their classrooms. This year’s E-Congress allows interaction between the classroom committee and bill author in determining bill amendments. The ability to negotiate on amendments instills the skills of discourse, debate and compromise in their students.
YLI is looking forward to an exciting session of the 2012 National E-Congress. As with all YLI programming, E-Congress is available free of charge to registered teachers.
