Great Opportunity from Foundation for Teaching Economics
The Foundation for Teaching Economics (FTE) is offering a wonderful program for high school students. The Economics for Leaders program teaches high school students how to integrate economics into the process of decision-making through a hands-on, experimental environment. Economics professors and leadership instructors, selected nationwide for their expertise and teaching effectiveness, lead classes that introduce students to the "economic way of thinking," and help them develop an understanding of and skill in leadership. Students will also be challenged by creative decision-making simulations in which they apply the concepts learned in the classroom.
Meg Heubeck, Director of Instruction at the Youth Leadership Initiative, said "I have participated as an educator in one of these programs and can tell you that it is a high quality program that will challenge your students both academically and socially. It is truly an outstanding program and participants leave with a real grasp of economics and leadership that will benefit them throughout high school and beyond."
For more information or to register, visit FTE's Economics for Leaders program page. There you will find information regarding dates and locations, costs, and application deadlines. The Foundation for Economics is a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to increasing the economic knowledge of Americans by providing educational resources for educators and their students.
